Elbow Tap Test for Anti-Rotation Strength

A crucial role of our core, is to be able to keep the body still whilst producing movement on one side of our body. This test will give you an idea as to how apt your body is at controlling rotation and preventing movement!

  • What You'll Need:
  • ~ Phone set up for recording and observation

Instructions:

~ Come into a high plank position; hands and feet shoulder width / hip width apart.

~ Make sure you're in a neutral position at your hips; back is nice and flat.

~ Lift one hand off the floor and tap the opposite elbow, with the goal of not feeling (or seeing!) any movement elsewhere in your body.

~ Try to avoid your hips sinking or lifting; your body rotating; or your shoulder lifting.

~ Repeat a few times each side, and assess your findings!
